Lovely warm afternoon when the temperatures reached a balmy 12c. Perfect for checking how the bees have coped with the ravages of winter, and to see how the stores of fondant are doing. Great to see that there is plenty of activity, and that the first batch of fondant is being taken down by my very active colony. It will be important to ensure that they continue to have a supply of feed until the spring flowers are in full bloom at least. Looks like they are already picking up some pollen from the early crocuses judging by the colour of their crop.
