Beekeeping Introductory Course

The cost of the course is only £80, payable in advance.  This includes 1 years' membership of the BBKA.

The course would broadly cover the following:
 

1. Introduction - The Bee Colony - Bee Lifecycle

2. Hive - Hive Types - Equipment

3. Beekeeping Year

4. Queens - Swarms

5. Bees - Plants - Harvest

6. Pests & Diseases

This will be followed by three practical training sessions

Each week, we will go through a hive so you can see how a hive operates. Initially it wouldn't be hands on but by week 3, each member should be able to hold a frame and inspect it.
