You should by now start thinking about putting out your hornet traps to catch foundress queens before they have an opportunity to build a full colony.

Here is the recipe for the bait:

For an effective lure, fill your trap with:

​

1 shot glass of water or beer

1 shot glass of fruit juice

4 tablespoons of sugar

1 shot of vinegar

​

Once the hornet catch the scent and crawl inside, the trap design should prevent them from getting out.
