Is your name on our Contact List?
Up to now, the email address that you gave to the Sherborne Beekeepers Association (SBKA), has been used to keep you up to date with news and events.
The law is changing. New regulations (General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)) mean we need your renewed consent to contact you about matters relating to (SBKA) after 25 May. Even if your name is already on our contact list, you must complete the form below to ensure that you remain on the list. Simply complete the form below:
1. WHAT IS GDPR?
General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a set of new data protection rules that come into force on 25 May 2018. They mean that organisations like SBKA can only use your personal data to contact you if you've given them permission to do so.
2. WHY IS SBKA ASKING FOR MEMBER’S CONSENT NOW? DIDN'T YOU NEED IT IN THE PAST TO BE COMPLIANT WITH EXISTING REGULATIONS?
According to the current regulations, SBKA can communicate with you if you haven't unsubscribed (opted out). That's what we'll continue doing until 25 May 2018. We currently provide everyone with the opportunity to opt out and if you do, we exclude you from our communications.
GDPR will change this approach in 2 ways:
You will need to give your consent before we can contact you, or, if you opted in in the past, we'll need your renewed consent before 25 May 2018
You must give informed consent, meaning that we've explained how we use your data
3. HOW WILL YOU USE MY DETAILS
In this digital age, many people are concerned about how their personal data is used. SBKA will only use your data to make sure we keep in touch and keep you informed about events relating to the association. Information will not be shared with any third parties.
